Which explains why the sequence 81, 3, 1/9, ... is arithmetic or geometric?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its geometric

OpenStudy (i_love_my_nieces):

*faceplam*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i'll explain

OpenStudy (anonymous):

he was right

OpenStudy (i_love_my_nieces):

Hold on it's MC.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

want me to explain??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in geometric sequence common ratio is same while in arithmetic common difference is same... iin this series u can see that common ratio us same

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*is

OpenStudy (i_love_my_nieces):

The sequence is arithmetic because it decreaces by a factor of 1/27 The sequence is geometric becuase it decreaces by a factor of 1/27 The sequence is arithmetic because it decreaces by a factor of 3 The sequence is geometric because it decreaces by a factor of 3

OpenStudy (i_love_my_nieces):

These are my opitions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its B The sequence is geometric becuase it decreaces by a factor of 1/27

OpenStudy (i_love_my_nieces):

Can you please explaine?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

geometric sequence is like that a, ar , ar^2 ,....... in this sequence a = 81 then if its geometric then ar must be equal to 3 ar = 3 putting a =81 81 x r = 3 r = 1/27
