Help! I'm having trouble translating this into an equation. A motorcycle traveling at 60 miles per hour overtakes a car traveling at 40 miles per hour that had a head start. How far from the starting point are the two vehicles?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That is, a three hour head start

If anyone can check my work, ended up with 360 miles. 60x=40x+4800 20x=4800 x=240 240+120=360
