Read the sentence. Although meteorologists work hard to predict hurricanes’ paths, hurricanes sometimes veer off course. Which of the words or groups of words is the simple predicate? A:work hard B:veer C:predict hurricanes' paths D:predict Thank You!!

OpenStudy (paki):

option C...

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

I am not so sure about that.....I do not think option C is correct. I am gonna go with option B. Only because, " Although meterologists work hard to predict hurricane's paths " is a subordinate clause. It is not the main clause. " hurricanes sometimes veer off course ", is the main clause, and in that sentence, veer is the simple predicate.

OpenStudy (paki):

but i am sure with my answer sir :-)
