please help!

OpenStudy (kayley01):

what do you need help with?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Find the slope of the line through the points (-3, -5) and (10, 13). Show all steps

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hey ill help out!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

omg so many people!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you know the formula for slope right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no. no clue at all

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok \[m=\frac{ y2-y1 }{ x2-x1 }\] so you have your points (-3,-5) and (10,13) lets name the points y1= 13 x1= 10 y2= -5 x2= -3 insert the points into your equation and solve...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but dont divide... but you can simplify it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh... wow. okay! I don't have a calculator so anyone know an online one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

http://symbolab.com/solver this works well

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok hold on...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

right!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nope... symbolab is a full calc not specialized so maybe this website works better... its meant for slopes... http://www.webmath.com/equline1.html

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh darn! hold on...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh it's 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no oba thats still wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lovely that website shows all the steps as well so its a double bonus

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i still have no clue how to do this. im blonde people.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol ok well did you get an answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no im confused:(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

again

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so i gave you the equation already... ill change up the order of points y2= 13 x2= 10 y1= -5 x1= -3 insert the numbers into the equation... \[m= \frac{ 13- \left( -5 \right)}{ 10- \left( -3 \right) }\] solve-ish... \[m= \frac{ 18 }{ 13 }\] the number above ^ is your slope... 18 being the rise and 13 being the run...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you get it now?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay umm hold on... this will take a while...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol ok ill wait

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this is gona make you mad but explain again please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

imblonde!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oy vey... so pretty much use the formula for slope to solve... insert corresponding parts of the points to matching label in the formula... solve from there... leave in fraction form and simplify if possible...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

got it now?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no=.= i suck at this! ich bin sehr traurig!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im very sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol its ok... just copy down what i wrote and ask your teacher tomorrow for help... you speak german?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

some

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I told you I was German and Swedish and Irish!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hey im gonna clos it down bye!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol ok i forgot... and ok but i aint leaving OS

OpenStudy (anonymous):

neither am I

OpenStudy (anonymous):

mkk
