Find the length of a triangular prism with a volume of 660 cubic cm, a base of 10 cm and a height of 12 cm.

OpenStudy (paki):

Here the Volume is given to us, it's 660 cm^3. The cross-sectional area is the area of a triangle with base 10 and height 12. The area of a any triangle is Base * Height * 1/2, so the area of this triangle is 10 * 12 * 1/2, which is 60cm^2... Putting those numbers into (Volume = Area * Length) gives us the equation (660 = 60 * Length).... 660=60*L ==> L=660/60 solve now... @bobsue
