OpenStudy (jlg030597):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is the problem.

|dw:1398781736655:dw|

OpenStudy (jlg030597):

so youd have V=B*H V=2*2 V=2*2 V=2*2 V=2*2 V=6*1

OpenStudy (jlg030597):

so then you get 4+4+4+4+6= ?

OpenStudy (jlg030597):

so then you get 8+8+6+? then you get 16+6=22

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But what do you do with the 5?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And 22 isnt an answer choice

OpenStudy (jlg030597):

the 5 splits into 2 twice and then the 2 is the height of the center the what are your answer choices

OpenStudy (anonymous):

My answer choices are in the picture

OpenStudy (jlg030597):

|dw:1398782588892:dw|

OpenStudy (jlg030597):

thats confusign either way you do this you get 22

OpenStudy (cgreenwade2000):

What? No. It's not 22/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's 44

OpenStudy (cgreenwade2000):

Fill in the gaps and find the volume of 60 and then subtract the missing parts. They each had a volume of 8.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There are 4 cubes with a volume of 8, then there is a rectangular prism with lengths 6*1*2=12. 8*4=32 32+12=44

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks guys, y'alls answers make a lot more sense!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's fine. Do you understand how I broke it into 4 cubes and a rectangular prism (the middle)? It's important that you do so that you can do this in the future.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, I do. You took the sides of the >H< and broke them into 4 cubes, then you took the middle piece and made it a rectangular prism.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you think you could help me on one more? Its different then the first one.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is it
