Line 2 represents Jerry. He ran at a fast pace for two minutes, rested for 6 minutes then ran fast for another two minutes. Line 1 is Ktaja. she ran slower than Jerry but kept it up for a full 8 minutes without a rest.  The intersection is the point where Katja passed Jerry. This happened at the 5 minute mark, while Jerry was resting. Even though Jerry was running faster, he rested for so long he wasn't able to catch up. 


NOTE: I used minutes because it makes sense, but no units are actually given.
