Can someone help me with this? I have been ahving trouble with my class, the lessons are cutting off in the middle the words are getting scrambled, needless to say I'm having trouble finding the answers. These are for my notes, and I would really appreciate a speedy answer as I need to talk to my teach for an Oral Quiz soon. :) Explain how each of the rights in the Bill of Rights is limited. 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th 7th 8th 9th 10th
Well, the Bill of Rights, and all other amendments, technically only apply to the federal level. Freedom of speech didn't even apply to the state level until incorporation began, which applied constitutional protections of rights to the states. It would take a while to go into each amendment specifically. This website explains what each amendment is: http://billofrightsinstitute.org/founding-documents/bill-of-rights/ You have to use some critical thinking skills to answer this question. How could each amendment be expanded? What is each amendment lacking, in terms of protection? Another one that applies to all of those amendments is lack of clarification; they often have to be interpreted, as they are very broad. I don't really like this question in general though. The ninth amendment unenumerates the rights of the people; meaning, there are more than just these 8 rights listed here (10 protects states rights, not the rights of the people), and those not listed must also be protected. That's the opposite of limiting! Ah well, hopefully you will not have a question about that. Hope this helps :)
Thanks @wotseit I had to do my best on this since it was due that day, but thanks any way. :)
