what was MacArthurs role in the korean war

OpenStudy (anonymous):

He was eventually tasked with pushing back North Korean forces who had nearly managed to take complete control of South Korea. At the time, he was the only US commander in the region who had a substantial amount of military assets under his control in Japan. He managed to turn the tide with his daring attack behind their lines at Inchon.
