can you help me factor 4 problems @PinkSapphire

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hello can you help me please

OpenStudy (pinksapphire):

Depends on what they are.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like 16a^2-25c^4

OpenStudy (pinksapphire):

Factoring them out?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah can you do that

OpenStudy (pinksapphire):

I think so because I just learned this.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh if you cant it is okay

OpenStudy (pinksapphire):

They don't have 1 in common so it will look like this 1(16a^2-25c^4).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay would that be the answer then

OpenStudy (pinksapphire):

I think so for this on because the only thing that they have in common is 1.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay do you want to try another one

OpenStudy (pinksapphire):

Watch this video if you have any problems with other questions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EDebmfT5Nsk

OpenStudy (pinksapphire):

Sure I can help you with other questions :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thanks x^2-2x-15

OpenStudy (pinksapphire):

Same with this one, the only number they have in common is 1.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thanks

OpenStudy (pinksapphire):

Any more?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

umm no at this moment

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

x^2-2x-15 Just get used to the style. WRITE DOWN what you know. It's going to look like this... (x __ ____)(x __ ____) -15 < 0, so the signs will be different. With x^2 (as opposed to 3x^2 or 7x^2), it doesn't matter where. Just pick one. (x + ____)(x - ____) Factors of 15 are 1*15, 3*5. Which one has a difference of -2? (x + 3)(x - 5) One piece at a time. Just think your way through it.
