The sides of a rectangle are 6.01 meters and 12 meters. Taking the significant figures into account, what is the area of the rectangle?

Area of a rectangle is A=wl, so you have 6.01*12=72.12
You have three signficant figures in 6.01 and two significant figures in 12

Significant figures are essentially however many numbers are in the problem. However you only count zeroes if they come after the decimal point. I'm not great with significant figures though.
Since there are only three significant figures at max you would round to 72.1
