The Gulf Stream is a warm water current that flows away from the equator to northern Europe. Which of the following does this cause? A. crashes of warm and cool water in the ocean B. colder climates near the equator C. large waves on the coast of Europe D. warm climates in northern Europe
Water has the capacity to "absorb" heat and transport it over great distances before releasing it. The Gulf Stream is able to carry heat from locations near the equator all the way to northern latitudes that are usually associated with cold climates. Based on that, which option would you deem most appropriate? P.S. Welcome to OS. I think questions and questions like this would do better if posted in the Geography section. http://openstudy.com/study#/geography Please take time to go through the coc and tac so you do not risk getting banned for being unaware of the rules. http://openstudy.com/code-of-conduct http://openstudy.com/terms-and-conditions
Had you searched this question on bing.com you would've found your answer instantly, but here is the answer anyway: D
Please do not give away answers @thedogkeeper . It violates the coc.
@Luigi0210 This is a biology question, not a geography question.
You tagged the wrong user. It seems more geographical to me. Seeing as weather is a non-living thing and biology is the study of living things
@Luigi0210 sorry wrong person
@Lena772 Although yes water does not pertain to life, biology covers all aspects of the sea, as well as the air.
Well, it would be more suitable for Earth Science or Environmental Science but Geography is more for landmasses, countries, etc. Biology does cover the Gulf Stream though.
@Lena772 Perhaps it wasn't that way for you old timer, but anymore they combine it with biology.
The intention of this site is to teach. Not to refer to places where students can get their answers instantly. Not many people understand that the answer to a multiple choice question is worthless. It's the why part that matters for the full 100% Just saying "it's A" is just useless. Depriving students of the chance to learn something. You must always explain WHY the answer is A or why B C and D cannot be the answer.
If they were going to take the time to learn about it, they would've just asked the question by itself without the multiple choice @thomaster Don't blame me for what they decide to do with the answer, I only provide them what they were seeking, if they asked for an explanation I would've gladly given it to them.
If they seek for an answer only, you are not allowed to provide them the answer. If you do so, you are indirectly encouraging cheating and bypassing learning material, which is a very bad thing. I do not blame you for what they decide to do with the answer. However if you give out answers without explanation, I can blame you for encouraging and aiding in cheating activities. Also I will kick people from the site if they continue to do so after being warned. If they don't take the time to learn about it, and ask the question with multiple choice options, you ask them questions about their questions, so that will have to think about it and actually learn something. If they don't cooperate, you just leave it be. If you see someone else providing the answer, you report them.
Kick me if you need, I'm merely helping everybody that I can. Cheaters or not, it doesn't matter, the cheaters will continue to cheat anyway :) Durp Durp Durp
Cheaters will continue to cheat So we must continue to tell them not to cheat... right? You will not help users by just giving the answer, don't you understand that? It's just faking knowledge, search for the answer on the internet, pretend you know the stuff, and fail the exam miserably. perhaps on short term you'll help them finish their homework, but when they take the test, they'll realize they haven't learned anything from asking for answers. I feel bad for the simple minded people who do not understand this.
I understand it, and if they take the test and fail, that is their own demise. That is the concequence for cheating, how do you think people learn? from positive reinforcement? LOL Hell no, they learn the hard way. So yes, let the cheaters fail, it makes life easier for the people that actually give a damn about their work.
It would be a lot easier to directly tell them the consequences and NOT give them the answer... They will give up their search on the internet and actually study anyways if they do not find what they seek. So any method but telling the answer will benefit the student. Telling the answer will do the opposite.
Anyways this rule is not up for discussion. You're not allowed to give out answers, end of story. If you're found doing this, we will suspend your account and delete every answer you've given.
Lol kay bro.
Wow. even though this was from 1 year ago that was a long chat.
