PlEASE HELP! :/ "Most bad government has grown out of too much government."-Thomas Jefferson What is the the meaning of this quote in relation to one of the following principles: limited government, natural rights, separation of powers, or checks and balances.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thomas Jefferson was an anti-federalist; so you can relate the quote to how having a limited government or a separation of powers makes it easier for the government to be less powerful and corrupt.

Limited government: The quote almost directly states that a large government is likely to be corrupt. You could also tie this in with separation of powers & checks and balances; these are necessary to keep the federal government from growing too large and powerful.
