Vector addition: to add two vectors that are in 3 dimensions , do they have to intersect spacially?

I know that when the head of vector u is at the tail of vector v, they can be added. But what happens when the vectors don't intersect at all?

Found it Turns out only free vectors can be added when they don't intersect
