Please help me understand this. An antibiotic reduces growth of a newly discovered bacterium. How will the antibiotic most likely function if it is to inhibit an enzyme in a cell? a. alter the enzyme's shape as a competitive inhibitor b. bind the active site and reverse the function of the bacterium c. compete with the bacterium to produce more molecules in the same amount of time d. block the active site of the bacterial enzyme (I tried to look in the book but could find anything on antibiotics and trying to search the internet for some sort of understanding did not work either)

Hmm...it reduces the growth.....so maybe D?

I am stuck between B and D, because I know A and C wouldn't be right. but im not sure..
