Please help :'c What is the sum of an 8-term geometric series if the first term is 12 and the last term is -3,359,232? Should I find the ratio first? And then solve for the sum with the geometric series formula?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I found r=-6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

find r by the formula \[an=ar ^{n-1}\] then calculate S8 by the formula given in previous problem.

I got -3359232 by solving it that way and this is a choice. thank you :D
