f(x)=x^2+3x and g(x)= 2x-1 what is f(g(x))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Rewrite f(x) as f(y). That is, where ever you see x in f(x), call it y instead.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then, say y = g(x) = 2x-1 Plug that into your "new" f(y) and simplify.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in class we didnt need to change anything to y or simplify turely what i really need to know is do i plug f into g or g into f. i know its one or the other

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You're plugging g into f I just have people change x to y to avoid confusion.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

f(g(x)), is basically write down f(x), but replace every x with the equation of g(x)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(g of x)^2+3(g of x) = (2x-1)^2+3(2x-1) simplify

thank you!!
