how hard is violin compared to piano?

OpenStudy (twopointinfinity):

Piano is pretty dang easy. The violin is like taking a book and trying to make a computer out of it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well honestly its all just a prefrence and how your body acctuly functions some people are just natrualy good violin players because there body compasition lets them so that you are asking is kinda hard to answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No Offence but... @TwoPointInfinity have you even played piano? and if you have how far have you gotten? I know that violin is harder than piano but in no universe is piano "pretty dang easy" you have to work on your fingers and your positions and work on playing two different things in one hand. Maybe your just a prodigy unlike the rest of us and maybe your just stupid.

I play both piano and violin. (as well as harp) I started with piano, and let me tell you if I had not started with piano, I would have failed miserably at both violin and harp. I strongly suggest taking piano lessons first. It helps you learn all the basics at an easier level. And I agree with @emmagrey123 piano is not at all "pretty dang easy", when you get to some of the harder pieces they can take months to learn. But it is so worth it in the end. I strongly suggest you learn piano before tackling another instrument. Good luck to you!

i play both and i would say its about the same once you pass the basics but in violin you have to learn how to use something you dont use in piano but once you leaqrn it took me a week its the same it justs uncomfortable till you do

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well with piano you have two hands on the piano but with violin one hand is bowing one doing the notes

ad piano is not easy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i've played piano for years and it is not that difficult. it depends on the music you are playing. i took violin lessons and (my own opinion) it was pretty dang difficult. but i think that any instrument is difficult at first

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Personally I would say violin is harder but then again everyone has different opinions, but the reason why i think its harder is because with violin it has to have a nice sound to it when playing it when I used to play violin it sounded like bad screeching haha but then I got into piano it was really easy for me because it sounded beautiful no matter how it is that you played it , I got the hang of piano easily unlike violin(struggle) but i got way better but other than that you just need to practice and be comfortable with the instrument it is that you will begin to use (: Good Luck

violin then again I have played piano my whole life

OpenStudy (redeemed1312):

I think violins harder but, than again I've been playing piano for years! :)
