hasty generalizations tend to follow this pattern: X is true for A. X is true for B. X is true for C. X is true for D. from this you could conclude that X is true for E, F, G, etc. so you could say something along the lines of: Mary likes Jessica Mary likes James Mary likes Jalessa Mary likes Jamie Therefore, Mary also likes Janelle, Jonathan, and Jane. this is because Mary likes people whose names start with J.
