A piggy bank contains $5.45 in dimes and quarters. If the bank contains 29 coins, how many quarters are in the bank?

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

You can solve this in a number of ways. One of the most straightforward would be to write two equations in two unknowns representing the facts of the situation, and solve them. If we let \(d\) be the number of dimes, and \(q\) be the number of quarters, what is an equation that represents the facts of how many total coins are in the bank?
