simplify this expression x squared-11x+28 x squared-4x-21

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

\(\Large\color{red}{ \bf x^{2}-11x+28 }\) and I am simplifying this ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes ok now wat

OpenStudy (ikkikevin):

(x-4)(x-7), right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x^2-11+28 we need 2 numbers that multiply to 28 and those same 2 numbers that add to -11. unfortunately, that's not possible, so we have to use a quadratic formula. using the q. formula, i got (x+7)(x+4) x^2-4x-21 we need 2 numbers that multiply to -21 and add to -4 when added. i got 3 and -7. so (x-7)(x+3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes sorry (x-4)(x-7)
