question?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
hartnn (hartnn):
use
sin 2x = 2 sin x cos x
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Then factor the cosine out.

hartnn (hartnn):
2 sin x cos x +cos x = 0
factoring out cos x because it is common in both the terms
cos x (2 sin x+1) = 0
cos x = 0 find the values of x
2 sin x +1 = 0 , find sin x , then other values of x
OpenStudy (anonymous):
@hartnn
cos x = 0 then the answers are 1 and -1 right?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
its zero and 2pi/3 right?
hartnn (hartnn):
nopes, x is an angle, will be in radians
cos x = 0
x = pi/2 , 3pi/2
hartnn (hartnn):
sin x = 0 gives x = 0

hartnn (hartnn):
infact, sin x =0, gives x=0,2pi
hartnn (hartnn):
but we here need
2 sin x +1 =0
sin x = -1/2
for which 2 angles ?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
7pi/6 and 11pi/6?
hartnn (hartnn):
correct!
so your angles are
pi/2, 3pi/2,7pi/6 , 11pi/6
:)

when i write my answer should i specify that the first two are cosine and next 2 are sine?
or just list all four?
