y=3x-5 y=2x+7 What is the solution to this system of equations?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well since both equations are equal to y you can put them equal to each other. 3x - 5 = 2x + 7. Now we need to isolate the variables on one side and the integers on the other. So i would subtract 2x from both sides to get x - 5 = 7. Then I would add 5 to both sides of the equation. x = 12. I hope this helps!
