OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

The triangle is not drawn to scale. Here are the choices: A. 21.6 in. B. 24.2 in. C. 5.0 in. D. 12.3 in.

@johnweldon1993 @whpalmer4

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

A trig question... You have an angle....you have the side opposite that angle....and you want the hypotenuse of the triangle What trig function uses Opposite and Hypotenuse?

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

sine?

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Indeed^ \[\large sin\theta = \frac{\text{Opposite}}{\text{Hypotenuse}}\] So here we just plug in the numbers... we know the angle is 27 and the opposite is 11 so \[\large sin(27) = \frac{11}{\text{Hypotenuse}}\] \[\large \text{Hypotenuse} = \frac{11}{sin(27)}\]

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

Um....I don't know if I'm right..But would it be..5.0??

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

You would be absolutely correct!

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

Thank God!!:) Thanx for your help!! This was probably like the first question i got right....wow..im surprised..lol..

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

I got a 90!!:)

hartnn (hartnn):

11/sin 27 = 24.22

hartnn (hartnn):

i guess i am late :P

hartnn (hartnn):

congratulations for the 90! :)

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

Oh!!:) Thanx:) I actually missed 2 questions....And they were similar to this one....so..

hartnn (hartnn):

you'll definitely get a 100% next time :)

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

Yea....I actually got 100 on my first one...but..sadly i always get 90's and 95's....but i can't stick with the 100 anymore...lol...I always try to do my best on these exams!!:)

hartnn (hartnn):

thats the good spirit! keep it up :D

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

haha!!:) lol...thanx..I will:)

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Omg...how on earth did I miss that! -_- lol @hartnn too bad you weren't here sooner!! haha probably shouldnt juggle 4 questions huh!

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Sorry about that @YanaSidlinskiy

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

It's ok......I forgive you.....it doesn't matter:) At least you helped!:) It's fine:)

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):
