WHY IS A BIRD ON ELECTRIC POWER LINES NOT BURNED BY ELECTRICITY?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

HI welcome to open study :) First reason would be, it's because it doesn't have any contact to the ground, which may complete the flow of the current through their body and the second reason would be because they are only sitting on one line. The electrons will follow the easiest flow, so it will not flow in the body of the bird (no electric shock). BUT if the bird will spread its wings or put its other foot in the other line, it will have an electric shock because there will be an electric potential difference. i'm not sure about my terms but i hope it helps :)
