Angle 2 and angle 7 are congruent....they equal each other. So set them equal to each other and solve for x. 5x + 40 = 11x - 20 -- subtract 40 from both sides 5x = 11x - 20 - 40 -- subtract 11x from both sides 5x - 11x = -20 - 40 -- combine like terms -6x = - 60 -- divide by -6 x = 10 you got it correct :)
