The formulas that UmaPreethi sent u are for the peak to peak voltage in filter circuits. The actual formulae for finding the ripple factor are:

1) If u have the peak to peak Voltage (input), then use this one;
\[r = V _{pp} / V _{dc}\]
2) Use this one if you have the RMS voltage: (input)
\[r = V _{rms} / V _{dc}\]
