@hartnn ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@campbell_st ?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well how many flashlights are sold in stores A, B and C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3, 14, and 6

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

yep... so sum the 3 numbers then multiply the answer by the price of the flashlights... hopee it helps

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait, what? do i do this to each subject?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what does the product matrix represent?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well based on the question you have been asked... for me... the matrix plays no part... unless you are going to use \[\left[\begin{matrix}10 & 9 & 8\\ 3 & 14 & 6\\ 2 & 5 & 7\end{matrix}\right] \times \left[\begin{matrix}3 \\ 5 \\7\end{matrix}\right] =\] which is 3 x 5 + 14 x 5 + 6 x 5 =

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ooh so there is more than 1 way to do it..? but from the way that u said, i did this: flashlights: 3+14+6 = 23*5 = $115 is that right?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

its ages since I did matrices... the 2nd matrix maybe [3 5 7] I think... to the product matrix is [ 81 115 98] then the middle value is the gross for flashlights...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oohh but they both get the same answer! ook thanks sooo much!!:)

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

thats right .... if you want to multiply matrices I think the solution would be \[\left[\begin{matrix}10 & 9 & 8\\ 3 & 14 & 6\\2&5&7\end{matrix}\right] \times \left[\begin{matrix}3 & 5&7\end{matrix}\right] = \left[\begin{matrix}81 & 115 & 98\end{matrix}\right]\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

could you help me with another one if i post it in a new question?:)

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

ok... as I said... I'm really rusty

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha thats fine:) thanks so much!:)
