Is it okay for a teacher to make a student buy new shorts because they are too "short"? My is on a one-night field trip with an all girls choir. The teacher looked at my sisters shorts and said that they were too short. The shorts she was wearing were running shorts. She then asked my sister if she had any other pants, but she only had sweatpants for that night. She said that she could not wear the sweatpants, and that she had to buy new ones for $15.00

This is a public school field trip 4 hours away from where we live, and there is nothing we can do until she gets back. My sister has barely enough money for food tomorrow, and will now have to rely on her friends.

In my opinion, that teacher has no right to tell her what to buy. I don't know how that school works, but that's plain wrong. If that teacher wants her to get new shorts.. BUY THEM FOR HER!!! That is totally wrong of the teachers, especially if the girl has barely enough money for food. Again, just my opinion. I don't think that's right at all.

PS: The teacher should at least let her wear sweatpants if she can't deal with the shorts.

You're welcome.. they shouldn't be calling her that either.. wow!
