OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Loser66

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Preetha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ahhh the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A picture of the different eras of the USSR should be fine. Starting with the October Revolution, to the Collectivization Failures of Stalin, to the Great Patriotic War, to the Khruschev Era and the Cuban Missile Crisis, to the era of Stagnation and the 80s, and then to the fall of the Soviet Union.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont think thats what im suppose to be doing @Kc1999

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Assessment For this assessment, you are going to create your own informative and creative photo story. Here is a quick summary of the assessment requirements. Step 1: Study the list of nine images at the bottom of the screen and select five that represent what you believe were the greatest factors that contributed to the fall of the Soviet Union. There is no correct order for this activity, however you must be able to justify the order that you have selected. Step 2: Create a photo story by arranging the images in order of importance and write a description for each image. Each description should include the following elements: The description should be two to four sentences in length. The description should explain Who, What, Where, When, and Why the person/event is important. Step 3: Finally, you will need to explain your choices by writing a one-paragraph summary explaining your ranking and providing an overall picture of the demise of communism in the Soviet Union. The summary paragraph should include the following elements: be at least five sentences in length justifies why you placed these five images in the order that you did contains accurate information presents the subject clearly demonstrates an understanding of the fall of the Soviet Union is organized

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

http://s3.amazonaws.com/rapgenius/1366857933_oRgKTQ3.png This attributed to the fall of the USSR. This is was the policy of Glasnost, aka the liberalization of relations between the USA and the USSR. Soviet Socialism was in itself destructive because it creates an educated elite, which could then import foreign ideas like democracy into the nation. Combined with the Glasnost, which included freeing the press from restrictions under previous Soviet leaders, this led to the fall of the Soviet Union as the educated elite needed democracy and liberty.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

did you see al the options i gave you to choose.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm doing my best to understand the task you were given. It seems that you have to find five pictures you believed contributed to the Fall of the Soviet Union, and justify why you chose them. Then you say what the picture is about. Then you say why it contributed to the fall of the USSR

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup. and i no absolutely nothng, so thats why i asked you to pick the best options, and im gonna go find the answers. ...... hopefully.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Replace Velvet Revolution with Gorbachev being appointed as General Secretary of the Communist Party :) If you need any help, I'm here :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I hate school too. Its okay. Anyways, what you need help on?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well, you dont have to but if you want to, you can explain to me why you chose those options.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, I explained Detente already. Solidarity was a Polish Trade Union led by Lech Walesa. It represented the workers of Poland, a Soviet Puppet State. The Polish economy was shrinking by 2% in 1979, and this led to the starting of peaceful protests against the communist regime. Solidarity established circles internationally, with the Anti-Soviet Left-wing and the Polish Pope. By pressuring the Polish authorities to organize an election, it encouraged other Anti-Soviet groups in the Eastern Bloc to the same with their governments.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In effect, the domino effect. Solidarity led to Poland having free elections, and a ton of other revolutions followed.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I did two. :D You can do the rest. If you need help, just shoot me a PM.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

iight thnks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

where is your dente response you said you did it already bbut i cannot find it on here.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This attributed to the fall of the USSR. This is was the policy of Glasnost, aka the liberalization of relations between the USA and the USSR. OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lemme help. My paragraph?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What do you understand?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes yours and i understand what its saying i just dont know how id make it into my own words.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, firstly, to create a paragraph into your own words, take out the main idea of the paragraph

OpenStudy (anonymous):

My paragraph on Detente's had several main ideas: -Soviet Socialism created an educated elite because education under Soviet Socialism was universal -The educated elite knew about the achievements of Capitalist America, and wanted that in their own country

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i just read my instructions again and it said they need to be in order of importance, and idk if mine are, lol.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is more important in your opinion?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

of the pictures youve chosen , id say the first would be the fall of the berlin wall, but again i know nothing about the reasons you chose,

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Berlin Wall? Makes sense. After all it was the boundary between the Eastern and Western bloc. Do some research on the ones I have chosen :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

where it says this "The educated elite knew about the achievements of Capitalist America, and wanted that in their own country" who is the educated elite?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The people with higher education, or even education, could be considered the educated elite

OpenStudy (anonymous):

where were they located, because you said they want what america has, so where are they?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The Soviet Educated Elite.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I could edit the thing before you submit it :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wht do you mean?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I could edit your assessment before you submit it to make sure you get the facts right and all :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ight thats awesome thanks.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No probs :) Always glad to help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hey can you help me with romainian revolution and Gorbachev appointed as Communist Party General Secretary

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ofs

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Of course

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im stuck on those two

OpenStudy (anonymous):

..?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Romanian Revolution: The Romanian Revolution started when a pastor made several dismissing comments about the Romanian Government, which was Socialist. When the pastor was dismissed by the government, which in effect meants that he had to give up his home, crowds protected him. This led to a violent crackdown, which incited nationwide protests. After several confrontations with government forces, the military switched sides and backstabbed Nicolae Ceaușescu, executing him.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Importance: This was the last Warsaw Pact country where the leader was to be forcibly ousted by a mass protest and civil war. This led to more encouragement, not only to the people of the USSR, but to the military to rise. This also severely weakened the Soviet prestige, because they had now effectively lost all it's puppet states gained from the Warsaw Pact.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

whats importance?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Why it is important

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i finished my paragraph thanks to your help, would you like to help me with the Gorbachev appointed as Communist Party General Secretary

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In case I suddenly have to go to sleep

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Gorbachev was appointed the General-Secretary of the Soviet Communist in 1985, after the death of Leonid Brezhev. His reforms waere aimed at decreasing tensions with the US (detente), increasing political transperency (Glasnost) and becoming more capitalist-like in it's policies (perestroika). However, all this led to failure, as the Soviet State was in a deep period of economic reccession, causing people to be unsatisfied. In some cases, you had to wait in long lines just for a loaf of bread. Seeing that the Capitalists always had bread and meat, this caused the people to have extreme unease and wanted a change of systems and government, instead of a reform.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you give me some pointers on what to say in my summary of why i choase those

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Summary: List why you chose the Berlin Wall and the Velvet Revolution. I chose Solidarity and the Romanian Revolution because they were the start and end of the domino effect; Solidarity started it by pressuring authorities for an election, and the execution of the Romanian dictator ended it because it ended the dominoes of revolution. I chose Gorbachev because he enacted reforms that were harmful to the Soviet state.
