There should be some way to motivate people to come into rarely visited groups like chem , phy etc . People do you have any ideas so we can propose them to @Preetha
It's just an idea from my side i don't know if it would completely work.
I think SmartScore and kindness is a good motivator to many...
But still people don't its clearly visible
I think Ambassadors or Moderators should be assigned to a subject they are good at, but have one Ambassador or Moderator in EACH subject so help is ALWAYS there
Every moderator here is excellent at math only but yeah its a good idea
Or you could even do it to where to raise more SmartScore you have to help in all subjects just a little
I wrote that in your post
Good idea. We'll work on some strategies.
Thank you @Preetha
@puahina That would be nice, but you can't force anyone to always help. It's more of a volunteering type site.
I would like to help i said that but once i complete my studies i would sit in these subjects for hours to help!
How about different smartscores for different study groups? In math, I'd have a very low score and in biology, chemistry and OS feedback I'd be on top of the list. That way the list is more accurate. I'm always being tagged in history questions because I'm on top of the list, even though I'm the worst at history. Or, do them both. My global score (99) and my history score (perhaps 20). The green (in my case purple) 99 would have a red border or something (just brainstorming). Red as in ss20 has a red/orange color.
Ooh that's a good idea, nice thomaster, that would totally motivate me to answer questions in other sections as biology which I wouldn't normally go in, so in a way it would have me studying more as well :)! Very interesting.
Yes, I do agree that other subjects need a boost of contributors (& questioners) as well. This is needless to mention that contributions in those other fields should not go unrecognized.
Group development, especially in the less popular subjects, is another thing OpenStudy definitely needs to work on.
yes
@thomaster That's how the old days were, my friend. The sweet old days.
@ParthKohli Yea there are some things from the old days that they shouldn't have removed. Like this, and the achievement system.
The system *does* give attention to the subject-wise performance. So yes, it should be possible.
yes as the cliche goes "Old is Gold" haha
