A number cube with the numbers 1 through 6 is rolled. Find the given probability. 1.P(complement of 4)) a. 1/6 b. 5/6 c. 2/6 d. 4/6**?

@perl

OpenStudy (perl):

you can think of probability as a fraction of the favorable outcomes to the total outcome. probability = favorable / total here we want complement of 4, which means the numbers which are not 4 .

OpenStudy (perl):

Probability = # favorable / # total . here the event we want is 'not' getting 4. there are 5 ways of not rolling a four, 1,2,3,5,6. so the numerator of the fraction is 5. the denominator is the total ways of rolling a die 1,2,3,4,5,6. so we have probability = 5/6

ohh i get now, thank you!
