OpenStudy (linn99123):

The base area of a prism is 140 square feet. Its height is 6 feet. What is the volume of the prism? A. 146 ft3 B. 280 ft3 C. 420 ft3 D. 840 ft3

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

Im guessing triangular prism?

OpenStudy (linn99123):

dosent say o.o

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

Nope that was wrong...according to this the formula is simply just v = bh. http://www.math.com/tables/geometry/volumes.htm Lets just say it is an irregular prism...so that would be 140 x 6 = 840...

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

@AccessDenied @Destinymasha did i do this correctly?

OpenStudy (linn99123):

confusing

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

Sorry mate! Some times questions that don't give enough information is kinda hard to answer...I believe this is how you do it though!

OpenStudy (accessdenied):

You take the area of the base, times the height, in all cases of prisms. Whether its a triangle prism or rectangular prism or a cylinder even (not quite a prism but its the same concept).

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

I see...Thank you Mister @AccessDenied for that information and i will keep it in mind next time!

OpenStudy (accessdenied):

No problem. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so whats the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have that same problem??
