What does it mean when someone has predetermined feelings about something?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It means they go into a situation already knowing how they feel about it. For example, if I meet my brother's girlfriend for the first time, and I've heard stories about her, I may go in with positive or negative feelings not based on the girlfriend herself, but on these stories. These feelings are predetermined.
