log(10^3x)= ?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well if its a base 10 log the answer is 3x because when the base of the log and base of the exponent are the same the exponent is the solution \[\log_{a}(a^m) = m\]

awesome! thank you so much. @campbell_st

3x log is the power that 10 is raised to so as to eqal the nmber in parentheses: log(100) = log(10^2) = 2 etc.
