limits and derivatives

OpenStudy (lovelyharmonics):

Find the derivative of f(x) = -12x2 + 9x at x = 6.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

by hand ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i.e. \[\lim_{h\to 0}\frac{f(x+h)-f(x)}{h}\]?

OpenStudy (lovelyharmonics):

it would be -135 would it not?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

f'(x) = -24x + 9 and for x = 6 ==> -24*6 + 9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that is my guess, because next week you will be able to do the problem instantly in your head now i think you are required to do it using the definition am i right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is whatever \(-24\times 6+9\) is,

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which is in fact \(-135\) so you win

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok @Hero, will do that

OpenStudy (lovelyharmonics):

lol yay okay thx you guys c:
