Checking my answer lim x->inf ((4x-9)^1/2)/(x+3). Is it equal to 0?

hartnn (hartnn):

yep, its 0 ! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cool ^_^ and it's because on the top it's power to 1/2 and bottom power to 1?

hartnn (hartnn):

thats correct. a more methodical way to do this is to divide numerator and denominator by 'x' so that you get terms like 1/x, 1/x^2, ...and so on, and since x approaches infinity, all those terms will approach 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ah ok, I'll remember that, thanks!

hartnn (hartnn):

welcome ^_^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

umm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if I divide (4x-9)^1/2 by x, what do I get?
