Belinda need to operate a portable tape recorder requiring 12V at 100mA. She has some 1.5 dry cells which have an internal resistance of 0.3Ohms, and a 9V battery with an internal resistance of 5Ohms. She decides to connect two dry cells and the battery in series to provide an EMF of 12V for her tape recorder. a) What will she find when she measures the voltage in her new battery? b) She then connects the battery to her tape recorder, what voltage will she find?
