I need someone to please explain this to me. How does cis-platin prevent replication of DNA? -Diagram attached

Well it seems to me that in binding to the DNA it prevents other things from binding there, such as your fancy DNA polymerases that need to attach on in order to work. It would be like trying to unzip a zipper but you can't because your zipper is stuck at a point because of the cis platin.
