evaluate limit as h approaches 0 ((a+h)^2-a^2)/h

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have the answer is 1, not sure that i have the correct answer though

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\lim_{h \rightarrow 0} ((a+h)^2 - a^2)/ h\]

OpenStudy (zarkon):

1 is not the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i factored it out and it came to (ah^2+h^2)/h from there im lost

OpenStudy (zarkon):

\[(a+h)^2=a^2+2ah+h^2\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh i see i put ah^2 instead of 2ah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you that helped alot @Zarkon
