please help!!! What does it mean when a time signature has a 4 on the top and a 4 on the bottom?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A time signature of 4/4 means count 4 (top number) quarter notes (bottom number) to each bar. So the pulse, or beat, is counted 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 4, and so on.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks but how would you say 4/4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Im not sure about that. My teacher still hasn't taught me everything yet, but I will ask him and I'll let you know.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thank you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Np. I just texted my teacher and asked he said "in four four time" or or a piece is "in four"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

omg thanks cause the question was how do you say 4/4 : 4/4 : ______________time

OpenStudy (doc.brown):

Four four time.

what is the difference between a treble clef and a bass clef ? explain.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I believe that the notes on the bass clef is a line or space lower than the treble clef. Is this a written response?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks and yeah it is

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, remember dont use the same words. Cause you can get caught cheating, and research it a little more, to add more details to the answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And you can get a better grade on the question with more details.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know what they look like its asking for how it effects the musical sound

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh also I think that the bass clef note pitches are lower than treble clef note.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But you will have to double check that.

OpenStudy (doc.brown):

The notes in the treble clef are the collection of notes ascending from E above middle C. The bass clef encapsulates the notes descending from A.
