Over time, a household freezer will develop a layer of ice that coats the inside and grows thicker over time. Describe what happens to cause this layer of ice to form and grow.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What happens is that inside a freezer is that the low temperature inside it makes the water vapor which is in the air in the freezer condense and stick to its sides. then as its temperature further drops, it freezes and forms ice crystals around the freezer. it further grows as more water vapor condense, stick to the ice crystal structure and freezes... you could also think of it like this.... it develops ice is because every time you open the door you let warm air in this coats everything and refreezes growing thicker and thicker. Kind of like making a candle.
