What would most likely happen to a unicellular organism if it was exposed to a hypotonic solution for an extended period of time? It would shrivel and shrink. It would swell to a point. It would swell and then burst. It would not be affected.

Hypotonic means higher concentration of solutes inside the cell than outside the cell. This causes water to rush into the cell in an attempt to restore the balance, causing it to swell and possibly burst.
