Uuuuh one sec. I'll try and give you a method, so when the coefficient of x is greater than 1, you'll still know how to solve it. |dw:1399251185657:dw| Yes, like figgy stated, the answer is (3+x)((x+4). Based on my picture, you multiply the last number by the coefficient of x(1) and place that at the top. Then take the middle number(7) and put that at the bottom. The numbers on the right and left should multiply to equal the top number and add to equal the bottom one.

The first part is x^2 so it has to be x and x in the () and the middle has to be 7x. The two numbers are subtracted have to equal 7x.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(x+4) (x+3) = 0 Then you get x = -4 or x = -3
