A pole is stood up by two ropes attached on the left and right. The rope attached on the left is 12m long, and makes an angle of 50 degrees with the ground. The other rope makes an angle of 40 degrees with the ground. You are given 1m of extra rope to tie the ropes to the ground. How long is the second rope? I ended up getting 11m for the second rope, but I didn't know what to do with the extra 1m of rope given. Anyone know how to solve this?
