NASA launches a rocket at t=0 seconds. Its height, in meters above sea level, as a function of time is given by h(t) = -4.9t^2+214t+248. a. Assuming that the rocket will splash down into the ocean, at what time does splashdown occur? (Round answer to 2 decimal places) b. How high above sea level does the rocket get at its peak? (Round answer to 2 decimal places)

OpenStudy (shiraz14):

For (a), set h=0 and find t (remember that t>0). For (b), find the max pt of this curve. To do this, you would first need to set d[h(t)]/d(t) = 0, then find t and substitute this value of t into the original equation.

yup what he said

@Princezz : Thanks :)
