Write a paragraph on video games that is approximately five sentences in length. In your paragraph, be sure to promote sentence variety by using compound sentences.

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

That is quite a broad topic to write about. I can help you get ideas and aid in the writing process, but I'm not going to write the whole essay for you. (:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's fine. Team work. (: You would still earn a medal for helping.

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

Okay. (: So, to be more specific about the topic... Type of video game, or benefits of gaming... do you have more specific directions about what they want you to write about?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How it affects you. In negative ways, how it makes most teenagers more violent, curse more and make more wrong decisions.

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

Oh. Well I've been a dedicated gamer since I was 4, so I'm kinda on the other side of that argument, but I can still help. :p Ultimately, why gaming makes teens more violent is because of the type of game they are exposing their minds to. If you're playing more violent games, your mind will accept violence, and it will seem more normal to you. Video games can be addicting, so a person may isolate himself in order to play the game. By isolating himself, he is shutting out his social life. So social interactions in the long run will become more difficult for the individual. Typically, when you're isolated and away from the rest of the human population, when you are forced to interact with other people, you don't have as much tolerance for the dumb things people do. Which will make the teen more violent towards others, and also use curse words more often.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, not to be against video games. But, I'm not a gamer. So, there is more to write about games on how it affects people rather than writing about the benefits of gaming. ;x

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

Yeah, but I just explained the psychological ways of how gaming changes a teen's mind negatively. Basically, gaming will lower the tolerance level for social interactions, making the teen more violent and use curse words more often.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You're amazing. I will write this in my own words in post it. Okay? and maybe explain more thoroughly.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have one more question as well. Do you mind helping me out with the other question? It is similar to this one.

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

Sure, just tag me in it. (:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Over the long haul, gaming makes teens more vicious is because of the type of game they are revealing their minds to. If you're playing more violent games, the more your mind will adapt to violence, it will also seem to be more normal to the individual as well. Video games can be addicting, so a person may segregate themselves in order to play the game they desire. However, by isolating themselves, they are closing out their social life. Therefore, social interactions in the long run will begin to be more strenuous for the individual. Typically, when you're separated and away from the rest of the human communities, when you are forced to interact with other people, you don't have as much manners for the ignorant things people do. Which will make the teen more vicious towards others, and also use more curse words more than normally. ( @Whitemonsterbunny17, how's this? (: )

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I meant to take the 'is' after vicious.

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

Well I wouldn't use the word vicious, I'd use the word violent. Also, teachers don't like academic papers to include phrases such as "Over the long haul", etc. (I don't know why) Wait for a few minutes while I edit it. (:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, I will.

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

Gaming can cause teens to become more violent due to the type of game they are exposing their minds to. The more the teen engages in violent games, the more his mind will adapt to violence. Over time, violence will seem to be more normal to the individual as well. Video games can be addicting, causing the teen to isolate himself in order to play the game he desires. However, by isolating himself, the teen is eliminating his social life. Social interactions in the long run will be more strenuous for the individual. When he is isolated from other individuals, then later forced interact with other people, he won't have as much tolerance when interacting with others. This will make the teen act more violently towards others, and that stress can ultimately cause the teen to use curse words more frequently while interacting with others. How does that look? (:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Perfect! now let me work on the other one. You're amazing. lol. thank you.

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

You're welcome, and thanks!! (:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If I could, I would give you a million medals. lol.

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

Lol, I'd be made of medals!! xD I present to you... Medalwoman!! haha
