Julian gave x number of rubberbands to four people and y number of rubberbands to 3 people for a total of 42 rubberbands. Romeo gave x rubberbands to 2 number of people and y rubberbands to 5 number of people for a total of 56 rubberbands. Julian claimed that the situation can be written as this system: 4x + 3y = 42 and 2x + 5y = 56. Romeo claimed that the situation can be written as the system 4x + 2y = 42 and 3x + 5y = 56. Who was correct?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

Julian is correct

if you have any questions, please ask

What is your favorite method for solving a system - graphing, using a chart or guess and check? Why? Please use complete sentences

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

I cannot answer this...it is supposed to be your opinion.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but i dont really have one because to be honest i dont like math at all

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

lol...understandable. I, myself, would probably use graphing. Why ? Because its easy. If you can graph a straight line, you can solve systems of equations graphically.

ok thanks
