A ball is thrown from a cliff with an intitial velocity of 92ft/sec. The height h of the object t seconds after it is released is given by the quadratic equation: h= -16t^2+92t+24

OpenStudy (shiraz14):

(a) To solve the time taken for it to reach the sea, set h=0 & solve for t (ensure that t>0). (b) to solve for the maximum height reached by the ball, set dh/dt=0 (for max pt.) and find t. Then substitute this value of t into the equation for h to find h.
