what is the question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Yttrium i have to solve for y

OpenStudy (yttrium):

i believe y = 2(x-1) -3 and then y = 2x -5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First at right side use distributive property a*(x+y) = a*x + a*y so 2*(x-1) = 2 * x - 2 *1 = 2x - 2 So we have y+3 = 2x-2 now move 3 to right hand side by subtracting 3 from both sides so we get y = 2x - 2 -3 = 2x - 5 so y - 2x-5
